Description

This space is great for taking an air conditioned break during Sunday’s Vendor & Food Truck Market. The Boulder Garden is located beside Durham Central Park along Hunt Street.
Entrance to the indoor sensory relief space involves using outdoor stairs or a gravel lot and the door is located at the bottom of the building, through the garden.
Indoor space includes low-lighting; 1 single stall, gender-neutral, ADA-compliant restroom to the right of the entrance; water refill station; sensory support items and a few seated & floor options for sitting. Weight equipment will be stored along walls of the space and are unavailable for use that day.
Outdoor use of the picnic tables and garden space are also available during the Vendor & Food Truck Market.
If you would like to use the upstairs bouldering gym, you will need to go upstairs via the entrance on Roney St. and sign a waiver.

Getting to the Space

From the Market at Durham Central Park:
From Foster Street, facing Durham Skate Park & Playground, take a right towards Hunt St.
Once you hit Hunt street, take a right onto Hunt street
Walk up Hunt Street until you see the Boulder Garden on your left (Tall brick building previously known as Durham Brazing and Welding Works)
Locate the wooden stairs and/or gravel lot on the side of the building (this space features garden beds/picnic tables) and begin to make your way through the garden
At the base of the building, to the left side, is a black door. This is the entrance to the sensory relief space.
